Frequently Asked Questions


  • How long will it take:

    • Approximately 60-90 minutes. You set the pace!

  • How much notice is required to schedule an appointment?

    • We ask for at least 24-48 hours notice. However, we all also do same day appointments!

  • Can my children and pets be present?

    • Absolutely if you prefer it.

  • Are holidays, weekends, and evenings available?

    • We do have availability Saturday mornings. Appointments can be arranged outside of our normal hours for an additional fee.

  • Do you see all pets?

    • We currently only service cats and dogs

  • Do I have to be present the whole time?

    • You are welcome to be present the entire time or you may step away before the final
      injection

  • What about aftercare?

    • Private and communal cremation are available through our partners Paws, whiskers, and
      Wags. You are welcome to arrange aftercare with a different provider if you choose to.

  • Is aquamation available?

    • We are not currently offering aquamation but will be in the future! In the mean time, we
      currently recommend arranging aftercare with Pet Pilgrimage (NC) or Gentle Waters (SC) if
      that is your preference.

  • Do you do behavioral euthanasia?

    • Yes but a phone consultation is required first and must be approved by Dr. Ledain.

  • My pet is anxious and not great with strangers. How do we go about the visit?

    • We want your pet as comfortable as possible. Sometimes we recommend pre-medications
      prior to the visit ahead of time, gentle restraining techniques, and/or postponing the
      appointment if needed.
